Scout Saturday: Ecology + Earth Science

Get ready to be an Eco Hero! Open to elementary aged scouts to explore activities related to our planet, conservation and care of the environment.  This event will feature hands on activities and special guest presenters. These activities are designed to complement outdoors, hiking and camping badge requirements. 

Stations include: 

  • Fred the Fish: Explore a fish's encounter with pollution.
  • Rock City: Study the rock cycle and view samples of different types of rocks
  • Albatross - Winged Ambassadors: What does an albatross eat? Take a closer look to see natura vs. manmade
  • Migration Game: Be a bird and navigate your way through various hazards on your journey
  • Who’s Littering?: Calling all forensic scientists! Use your super sleuthing skills to find out who's leaving trash around town.
  • Tree Rings: What can trees tell us about Climate change?
  • Gulp: Learn about the food web in this fun, interactive game

And, explore the Biome Boardwalk with INFINITY's Master Naturalist and do microbiology sampling.

Present your registration receipt to the admissions counter for a special $9 Scout Saturday admission. Participants must register in advance to be eligible for special pricing. Payments are accepted either online at registration or upon arrival. All payments are due upon arrival.  When registering please select how many adults, how many scouts and how many "other" or "non-scout" children in your group.  This is a NON-REFUNDABLE purchase.
